Job summary

Meriwether Godsey, Inc. in Amherst, VA is seeking an Account Manager to support the Director of Dining Services in managing a high-volume campus dining program and events.

You will coach staff, coordinate catering for campus and off-campus events, assist menu planning, supervise service quality, ensure food safety, and maintain strong client relationships to meet brand and budget standards.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree (or 2+ years of leadership experience)
• ServSafe FPM Certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
• Experience promoting and driving catering programs
• Experience using online Food Management Systems
• Growing knowledge of sustainable practices
• High levels of professionalism and strong leadership skills
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Emerging leadership skills and strong customer service orientation
• Ability to work in a collaborative team environment while fostering relationships
• Must be available to work a varied schedule including nights and weekends

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day coaching, support, training, and guidance to ensure food quality standards and safety
• Support booking, planning, and communication for campus catered events and off-campus events
• Assist in menu planning for special events to meet brand and budget requirements
• Supervise staff during catered events to ensure high-quality service and presentations
• Monitor setup and maintenance of dining areas and food stations for quality
• Assist leadership in supervising staff needs; support purchasing and inventory activities
• Maintain a safe and healthy environment for clients, customers, and employees
• Foster an inclusive environment and maintain client/customer relationships
• Participate in recruitment, interviewing, hiring, and firing decisions
