Job Listing: Catering Sales Coordinator (Commission-Based - 1099 Contractor)

Plate Italiano Moderno offers modern Italian cuisine with an emphasis on guest relations. We are known for our exceptional food, outstanding service, and memorable private events in the Kansas City and Leawood areas. We are seeking a highly motivated and entrepreneurial Catering Sales Coordinator to drive significant revenue growth by independently securing new catering business and cultivating strong client relationships. This is a commission-based position, offering substantial earning potential for a self-driven and experienced sales professional with a deep passion for the hospitality industry.

Location: Kansas City, Missouri

Compensation: Commission-Based (1099 Contractor)

Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and execute proactive and independent sales strategies to acquire new catering and event business.
  2. Identify, prospect, and secure new client relationships through networking, cold outreach, and B2B sales.
  3. Build rapport and trust with prospective clients to understand their needs.
  4. Create and deliver compelling sales presentations and proposals for catering services.
  5. Collaborate with culinary and operations teams to ensure flawless event execution.
  6. Build and maintain a network within the event planning, corporate, and social sectors.
  7. Stay informed about industry trends, competitors, and new opportunities.
  8. Represent Plate Italiano Moderno at industry events and networking functions.
  9. Achieve and exceed sales targets regularly.
Qualifications:
  1. 2-3 years of successful sales experience in catering, event planning, or hospitality.
  2. Ability to generate leads, build a client base, and close deals independently.
  3. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  4. Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
  5. Self-motivated, results-oriented, and comfortable in a commission-based environment.
  6. Organized with good time management and attention to detail.
  7. Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM software.
  8. Passion for hospitality and delivering excellent client experiences.
Training:
  1. Paid training will be provided to familiarize the candidate with our culture, offerings, processes, and sales techniques. Details will be discussed during the interview.
  2. Post-training, the role transitions to a 1099, commission-only contractor.
  3. Ideal candidates will have an existing network of event contacts and knowledge of local market trends.
  4. Formal education in hospitality management, business, or related fields is a plus.
