Job summary

McLane Company, Inc. is seeking a Category Specialist to support Center for Category Innovation (CCI) sessions and merchandising initiatives across our distribution network.

This role emphasizes organization, teamwork, and accuracy in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include assisting with planogram creation and maintenance, auditing the CCI database, and coordinating catered lunches for meetings.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent is required.
• 2+ years of relevant experience in a similar role.
• Strong organization and time management skills.
• Proficiency with Word and Excel applications.

Responsibilities

• Assist in running Center for Category Innovation (CCI) sessions.
• Assist merchandising and sales teams with planogram creation and maintenance.
• Audit and maintain the image and dimension database for the CCI Department.
• Monitor and maintain planogram counts to stay under thresholds.
• Prepare and assist with CCI session logistics, including meals.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS / PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Assist in running the computer during Center for Category Innovation (CCI) sessions.
• Assist the merchandising team and sales team with planogram creation and maintenance.
• Assist with auditing and maintaining the image and dimension database for the CCI Department.
• Assist in monitoring and maintaining planogram count to stay under the required threshold.
• Assist with the prep and clean-up process for CCI sessions.
• Assist with planning, coordinating, and ordering catered lunches for CCI meetings.
• Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

• HS Diploma or equivalent
• Two or more years of relevant experience.
• Strong organization and time management skills.
• Strong Word and Excel experience.
