Job summary

BJ’s Wholesale Club is hiring a Category Merchant in Marlborough, MA for strategic category leadership and vendor negotiations. The role drives category growth, profitability, and competitive merchandise planning.

You'll develop assortments, manage pricing strategies with marketing, and provide leadership to the merchandising team in a hybrid work setting with in-office days Tue-Thu at the Marlborough center and remote Mon/Wed? Fri.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business or operations related field.
• 4+ years merchandising / category management experience.
• Strong negotiation and decision-making ability.
• Proven analytical and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for performance of assigned categories, driving growth and profitability.
• Negotiate pricing and terms with vendors.
• Develop competitive merchandise assortments to meet financial objectives.
• Build strong vendor relationships and flexible negotiation approaches.
• Oversee sales and margin plans and forecasts for categories.
• Communicate merchandising strategies to cross-functional teams for timely execution.
• Align pricing strategies with marketing and campaigns.
• Provide leadership and training to the merchandise team.
