Job summary

Pacific Seafood is hiring a Category Manager I for Sushi and Specialty Seafood in Clackamas, OR. This role supports strategy, analytics, and cross-functional collaboration within Distribution Procurement. Travel up to 50% is required to build supplier relationships and optimize the category.

The ideal candidate has a BA/BS in a related field and at least 5 years of progressive category management experience, with strong leadership and analytical capabilities.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree from an accredited college or university in Business, Sales, Marketing, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive category management experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Demonstrated expert-level knowledge of category management and a proven track record of building successful, sustainable categories.
• Ability to travel up to 50% of the time or more, as required

Responsibilities

• Sales and Marketing Strategy Management: Budget and devise sales and execution plans for the category, covering periodical, product form, customer, branch, price, and cost considerations.
• Supply Chain and Vendor Relations: Maintain category supply and source from external vendors, manage supplier service levels, quotations, and quality control.
• Market Analysis and Forecasting: Monitor market dynamics, communicate changes, and develop price forecasts; provide updates to the sales team.
• Training, Relationship Building, and Compliance: Train sales representatives and cultivate relationships to manage inventory and profitability, ensuring regulatory compliance.
