The Category Management & Strategic Sourcing Senior Manager is accountable for end‑to‑end sourcing and contracting of business process outsourcing (BPO) products and services across The Cigna Group. Responsibilities include driving sourcing strategies, managing the competitive bid process, recommending a supplier that best meets the business objectives, and delivering a negotiated contract that governs the supplier relationship.
The Senior Manager leads a team of two to three U.S.–based employees. The team executes projects of varying sizes and complexities, including non‑competitive bids. Contracting includes master service agreements and statements of work. The team coordinates with internal stakeholders such as operations, IT, legal, information protection, and privacy. The Senior Manager is an escalation point for navigating decisions with these stakeholders.
A successful Senior Manager balances team management and project prioritization, reduces supplier fees, and improves service delivery.
