Job summary

Adecco Permanent Recruitment is partnering with a growing defense technology and advanced manufacturing organization in Stafford, VA to hire a Buyer. This role manages the full lifecycle of manufacturing procurement, from BOM and MRP requirements through sourcing, supplier negotiations, PO placement, delivery, quality resolution and production support.

Onsite position with a 9/80 schedule and every other Friday off.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of purchasing experience within manufacturing.
• Hands-on experience with Bills of Material (BOMs).
• Strong supplier/vendor sourcing & relationship management.
• Experience obtaining RFQs, evaluating quotes and negotiating pricing/terms.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specs.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems.
• Understanding of inventory, production schedules, forecasting & lead times.
• Experience managing Purchase Orders from placement through delivery.
• Identify alternate suppliers and manage long-lead risks & supply-chain constraints.

Adecco Permanent Recruitment is partnering with a growing defense technology and advanced manufacturing organization seeking an experienced Buyer to join its Supply Chain team in Stafford, VA.

This isn't a transactional purchasing role.

We're looking for someone who understands the full lifecycle of manufacturing procurement — from BOM and MRP requirements through sourcing, supplier negotiations, PO placement, delivery, quality resolution and production support.

You'll work directly with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Program Management and Supply Chain to make sure the right materials and components are available when production needs them, at the right cost and to the right technical specifications.

• 3+ years of purchasing / buying experience within manufacturing
• Hands-on experience working with Bills of Material (BOMs)
• Strong supplier/vendor sourcing & relationship management
• Experience obtaining RFQs, evaluating quotes and negotiating pricing, lead times, delivery schedules & commercial terms
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications & technical requirements
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems and material requirements
• Understanding of inventory, production schedules, forecasting & material lead times
• Experience managing Purchase Orders from placement through delivery
• Ability to identify alternate suppliers, material shortages, long-lead risks & supply-chain constraints
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing & Quality

This team operates on a 9/80 schedule, meaning you'll have every other Friday OFF.

Monday–Thursday: 8:00 AM–5:30 PM

Working Friday: 8:00 AM–4:30 PM

This is an onsite position in Stafford, VA, and we're targeting candidates who currently live within approximately a 45-minute commute.

Relocation assistance is not available, so we're especially interested in candidates throughout the Stafford / Fredericksburg / Quantico / Northern Virginia region who can comfortably commute to Stafford.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must be able to successfully complete a background check
• Must have or be able to obtain a valid passport
• Comfortable with occasional domestic and international business travel
