The Category Analyst III provides advanced analytical support for assigned accounts by analyzing account data, generating actionable insights, building customer relationships, developing merchandising plans, maintaining POS data integrity, reporting business trends, and presenting findings to cross-functional teams, management, and customers. This role serves as an account and analytical subject matter resource, independently manages complex analytical projects, and supports the development and implementation of sales team policies and procedures to continually improve team efficiencies and effectiveness.

Sales Analysis & Business Insights

• Serves as the category and analytical subject matter expert for assigned customer accounts.
• Performs account-level analysis for assigned accounts and identifies account needs, trends, opportunities, and problems, including GMROI, in-stock performance, sell-through percentage, NIL picks, ideal product assortments, and new item performance.
• Provides actionable feedback based on results of analysis.
• Prepares analysis summaries for accounts.
• Designs, enhances, and implements analytical reports and reporting processes.
• Reviews, analyzes, and communicates competitive data trends.
• Serves as the primary analytical resource for assigned customer accounts.
• Maximizes sales opportunities through in-depth account analysis.
• Supports internal account-related projects.
• Develops presentation-ready analyses for account sales calls, customer meetings, business reviews, and sales presentations.
• Utilizes their expertise to anticipate account manager needs and provide support with minimal direction.
• Participates in account planning and sales strategy discussions by providing analytical insights and recommendations.

Market Analysis

• Conducts market research and performs market share analysis to identify market trends and opportunities.
• Analyzes shopper insights and consumer purchasing trends to support account and business decisions.
• Performs regular product landscape shops and evaluates competitive actions to identify opportunities and provide actionable insights.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Finance, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in category management, sales analysis, business analytics, merchandising, or a related analytical role.
• Demonstrated Extensive experience with data and situational analysis.
• Proficiency with retailer reporting systems, such as Scintilla, Retail Link, IRI, POL, or similar systems.
• Familiarity with data visualization tools; Tableau preferred.
