Job summary

Bell & Evans in Fredericksburg, PA, is seeking a Catch Crew Supervisor to oversee the timely, safe, and humane loading of broilers, pullets, and breeders. You will direct catching crews, maintain communication with the catching manager, and ensure operations meet safety and animal welfare standards.

This role requires coordinating with live production and transportation teams, training staff, managing equipment maintenance, and promoting strong company relations.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work 8 to 10 hours or longer.
• Actual catching time will be approximately 8 hours.
• Mechanical inclination/experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct the catching crews to catch the chickens in a timely, safe, and humane manner to supply the plant with sufficient product.
• Operate Forklift as needed.
• Take a proactive role in assuring safe, quality products are produced by immediately addressing any safety or quality concerns.
• Promote humane handling standards and enforce company policies.
• Coordinate and communicate with live production, transportation, and other departments to maintain smooth operations.
• Manage maintenance of equipment as needed.
• Train employees; plan, assign, and direct work; discipline when necessary.
• Maintain open lines of communication with catching manager and other departments to support customer supplier relationships.
• Other duties may be assigned.

JOB SUMMARY:

A Catch Crew Supervisor is responsible for ensuring timely, safe, and humane loading of Bell & Evans broilers, pullets, and breeders.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain good communication with catching manager.
• Direct the catching crews to catch the chickens in a timely, safe, and humane manner to supply the plant with sufficient product.
• Operate Forklift as needed.
• Take a proactive role in assuring safe, quality products are produced by immediately addressing any safety or quality concerns.
• Take a proactive role in assuring the highest animal welfare standards through training and promoting those policies established by the company.
• Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
• Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work, disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
• Ensure standards of humane handling are followed.
• Ensure company biosecurity standards for crew and catching equipment movement.
• Transport fan trailers during warmer weather
• Maintain open line of communication with appropriate live production and transportation departments pertaining to customer supplier relationships.
• Actively work with other areas of live production as needed to improve loading and handling.
• Manage maintenance of equipment as needed.
• Promote good company/employee and grower relations by using good human relation techniques.
• Other duties may be assigned.
