Job summary

Bell & Evans in Pennsylvania is seeking dependable individuals to join our Live Operations team as Chicken Catchers. You will safely and humanely catch chickens to ensure a steady supply for production, upholding animal welfare and food safety standards.

Applicants should have physical stamina, be able to work in a fast-paced setting, and demonstrate reliability with attendance. Shifts are typically 8–10 hours, with overtime as needed, in a wet, humid environment with outdoor weather conditions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Up to three months of related work experience or training is preferred.
• Equivalent education and experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Catch chickens safely and efficiently to support daily production requirements.

Job Summary

In this role, you will be responsible for safely and humanely catching chickens to ensure the processing plant has a consistent supply to meet production needs. Team members play a critical role in upholding our commitment to animal welfare, food safety, and product quality.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Catch chickens safely and efficiently to support daily production requirements.
• Take a proactive role in ensuring safe, high-quality products by immediately reporting any safety or quality concerns.
• Follow all company policies and procedures related to animal welfare.
• Handle birds in accordance with Bell & Evans' humane handling standards.
• Adhere to all company biosecurity protocols to protect flock health.
• Follow all safety policies and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Perform duties in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations.
• Work scheduled shifts of 8–10 hours or longer as needed, with approximately 8 hours dedicated to catching operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.

• An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
