Job summary

University of Puget Sound in Tacoma seeks an analytical Cataloging and Technical Services Librarian to provide strategic direction, intellectual control, and oversight for the library's physical and digital collections in a team-based environment.

Reporting to the University Librarian, this position serves as the library's chief authority on metadata excellence, cataloging standards, and technical services workflows.

Responsibilities

• Original and complex copy cataloging for multiple formats and ensure high-quality discoverability.
• Apply cataloging standards and metadata frameworks (RDA, AACR2, LCSH, LCC, MARC21, Dublin Core).
• Establish local QC procedures and data standardization within the Alma environment.
• Resolve complex bibliographic data issues and lead data remediation projects.
• Coordinate inventory lifecycle workflows and supervise staff.
