The Comforted Kitty seeks reliable, responsible cat lovers to provide in-home cat sitting visits while clients are away in the Richmond, CA area.

This flexible, part-time independent contractor position lets you set your own availability and service area, and we match you with clients who need trustworthy care for their cats. Pay starts around $25 per 30-minute visit, with higher rates for longer visits, overnight care, and house sitting.

Qualifications

• Experienced with cat care, especially in a pet sitting capacity.
• Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented.
• Strong written communication.
• Comfortable working independently in clients’ homes.
• Smartphone with reliable internet & camera.
• Medication experience (oral, injections, fluids).
• Holiday & weekend availability.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-home cat sitting visits following each client’s care instructions.
• Feed cats and refresh water; clean litter boxes.
• Offer playtime, affection, or companionship based on each cat’s personality.
• Send visit updates and photos through our app; log notes as required.
• Handle tasks like bringing in mail or packages when needed; adjust lights or trash as requested.
• Administer medications only if you have the experience and comfort to do so.

What You’ll Do

Cat sitting visits may include:

• Feeding cats and refreshing water
• Cleaning litter boxes
• Giving playtime, affection, orcompanionship based on each cat’s personality
• Sending visit updates and photos through our app
• Following each client’s detailed care instructions
• Bringing in mail or packages
• Adjusting lights, blinds, or trash/recycling when requested
• Administering medication when within your experience and comfort level

Most visits take place while clients are traveling, so weekend, holiday, morning, afternoon, and evening availability is especially valuable.

Service Types

• Drop-ins: 30 / 45 / 60 minutes (1–3x daily)
• Extended daytime visits: 2-8 hours
• Overnights: 10-hour stays
• 24-hour care: live-in with overnight care
