Job summary

The Comforted Kitty in Mountain View, CA seeks a part-time cat sitter to visit clients' homes and care for their cats. You set your availability and service area as an independent contractor, matching with clients who travel or need peace of mind.

Ideal candidates are experienced with cat care, reliable and detail oriented, with good written communication and the ability to work independently in clients’ homes. Smartphone access and flexible weekend availability are a plus.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform in-home cat sitting visits as scheduled.
• Feed cats and refresh water; clean litter boxes.

• Send visit updates and photos via app.
• Follow each client’s care instructions exactly.
• Collect mail/packages as requested.
• Adjust lights/blinds/trash as instructed.
• Administer medications when experience permits.

Part-Time Cat Sitter — Mountain View / San Mateo County Metro Area

Do you love cats and enjoy working independently? The Comforted Kitty is looking for reliable, responsible cat lovers to provide in-home cat sitting visits while clients are away. This is a flexible, part-time independent contractor position where you set your availability and service area, and we match you with clients. It’s a great fit if you want meaningful, independent work caring for cats, helping pet parents travel with peace of mind, and building trust with repeat clients.

What You’ll Do

Cat sitting visits may include:

• Feeding cats and refreshing water
• Cleaning litter boxes
• Giving playtime, affection, orcompanionship based on each cat’s personality
• Sending visit updates and photos through our app
• Following each client’s detailed care instructions
• Bringing in mail or packages
• Adjusting lights, blinds, or trash/recycling when requested
• Administering medication when within your experience and comfort level

Most visits take place while clients are traveling, so weekend, holiday, morning, afternoon, and evening availability is especially valuable.

Service Types

• Drop-ins: 30 / 45 / 60 minutes (1–3x daily)
• Extended daytime visits: 2-8 hours
• Overnights: 10-hour stays
• 24-hour care: live-in with overnight care

Pay & Perks

• Sitters are paid per visit, with rates typically starting around $25per 30 minute visit, withhigher pay for longer visits, overnight care, house sitting.
