Job summary

Virtua Health is seeking a CT technologist to perform CT scan examinations in accordance with radiologist protocols and, when assigned, rotate through Voorhees, Marlton and Berlin facilities. You will use RIS, PACS and other hospital systems, document thoroughly, and assist with IV contrast administration and interventional CT as needed.

Minimum 1 year CT experience preferred; graduate of an accredited Radiology Technology program and ARRT certification with NJ licensure; CPR required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year in CT preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology.
• ARRT certification required; NJ DEP licensure required.
• CPR certification required.
• Advanced ARRT certification in CT preferred; if not CT certified, boards within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Consistently performs high quality CT scan studies for patient populations according to radiologist protocols.
• Demonstrates knowledge and utilization of CT equipment, RIS, PACS, Web Viewer and other hospital systems.
• Provides thorough and accurate documentation; verifies physician orders.
• Provides safe IV contrast administration and prep; assists in interventional CT procedures.
• Provides emergency on-call coverage and trains new CT technologists.

Job description

New to Virtua hires are eligible for sign on bonus of $10,000

• Two-year commitment *

Work Schedule

Week 1: Mon, Tues, Fri, Sat 10-hour shifts (6a-4:30p or 7:30a-6p) rotating schedule.

Week 2: Sun, Wed, Thurs, Fri 10-hour shifts (6a-4:30p or 7:30a-6p) rotating schedule.

Up to 2 full holidays per year.

Call one week every 6th week.

Summary

Performs CT scan examinations in accordance with established protocols, procedures, and techniques. Participates in divisional rotation (Voorhees, Marlton and Berlin) when employed by the Virtua South.

Position Responsibilities

• Consistently performs high quality CT scan studies for our patient populations according to protocols established by the radiologist. Demonstrates knowledge of routine and non-routine CT exams and applies those principles to obtain high quality images based upon the patients age, habitus and/or disease process. May also perform more extensive radiologic and CT scanning functions for diagnostic purposes.
• Demonstrates thorough knowledge and utilization of all CT scan equipment and film and takes appropriate actions when service calls are required. Demonstrates appropriate and effective use of RIS, PACS, Web Viewer, ADW workstation and other hospital based computer or PC systems.
• Consistently provides thorough and accurate documentation. Obtains pertinent medical information prior to the procedure, reviews and verifies physician’s orders.
• Provides safe and effective IV contrast administration, including IV catheter insertion. Preps patients according to established protocols. Assists physicians during interventional CT scan procedures.
• Provides emergency on-call services where indicated. Also, Provides instruction to and assists in any training of new CT scan technologists.

Position Qualifications Required / Experience Required

Minimum of 1 year in CT preferred.

Required Education

Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology.

Training/Certifications/Licensure

• Certification with The American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT).
• N.J. DEP licensure required.
• Advanced level ARRT certification in CT Scan preferred. If not CT certified, employee will be required to take the boards within one year of hire date.
• CPR certification required.

Salary

$36.14 - $56.23 Hourly
