Job summary

Swain Community Hospital, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a CT Tech (CT Tech) to join our diagnostic imaging team. The role involves reviewing orders, educating patients, administering contrast when needed, and ensuring high-quality imaging while maintaining safety standards. A 2-year certificate or higher is required, with BLS due within 30 days and ACLS/PALS within six months.

Weekend shifts apply. We offer a $10,000 sign-on bonus with a 2-year commitment.

Qualifications

• Must have a 2 year certificate, associate degree, or bachelor's degree.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS required within six months of hire.
• One year of experience preferred.
• ASLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reviews patient history and physician's orders.
• Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure understanding and cooperation.
• Administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice when ordered.
• Monitors patient condition and responds to changes.
• Prepares equipment and supplies.
• Implements safety standards and quality control on equipment.
• Troubleshoots equipment malfunctions as needed.
• Positions patient and performs imaging procedures.
• Analyzes results and addresses image quality issues; repositions patient if needed.

How you'll contribute

A CT Tech who excels in this role:

• Reviews patient history and physician's orders.
• Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.
• When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.
• Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.
• Prepares equipment and supplies.
• Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment.
• Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.
• Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s).
• Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results.
• Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and
• repeating procedure.

What we're looking for

Must have a 2 year certificate, associate degree, or bachelor's degree as well as a current ARRT registration.Additional requirements include:
