Job summary

Greenwich Radiological in Greenwich, CT is seeking a skilled CAT Scan Technician with Supervisor Responsibilities to join our imaging team. You will perform CT procedures, prepare patients, ensure safety, and coordinate with physicians to follow protocols.

The role requires ARRT certification, CT experience, and supervisory or coordination capability. You will oversee staffing, maintain equipment standards, manage documentation, and support cross-training in allied modalities as needed.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited radiologic technology program.
  • Current ARRT certification required; CT certification preferred or required depending on department standards.
  • Current state licensure in radiography and/or CT as applicable.
  • Prior CT imaging experience required. Bone Density and X-ray imaging a plus.
  • Willingness to train in Bone Density and X-ray modalities if no prior experience.
  • Supervisory, lead, or clinical coordination experience preferred.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced outpatient setting; compassionate and team-oriented.
  • BLS/CPR certification required or obtainable on hire.

  • Oversee supply ordering and inventory management in radiology.
  • Monitor biohazardous waste and radiation badges; manage badges for staff.
  • Serve as liaison between reception staff and technologists on scheduling and professional issues.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform CAT Scan procedures according to physician orders and departmental protocols.
  • Prepare patients for imaging procedures and ensure patient safety and comfort.
  • Operate CT equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Administer contrast media when indicated and monitor patients for reactions in accordance with policy and scope of practice.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and required documentation. Ensure compliance with radiation safety, infection control, and quality assurance standards.
  • Assist with Bone Density and X-ray imaging as needed, if trained and/or credentialed. Participate in cross-training and modality support as department needs require.
  • Maintain a comprehensive list of radiology equipment and maintenance needs, including ACR accreditation requirements.
  • Ensure ACR accreditation is maintained for necessary machines. Maintain an up-to-date list of controlled medical requirements for the CAT Scan room.
  • Oversee ordering of supplies and update supply lists as needed.
  • Track biohazardous waste, including sharps and related materials.
  • Monitor radiation badges with Landauer, return badges as needed, and order new badges for new staff members.
  • Monitor laundry needs and communicate with the laundry vendor when service changes are required.
  • Order supplies for the radiology department, unpack deliveries, and properly store incoming materials.
  • Provide packing lists for received supplies to the Practice Manager, noting which department the supplies were purchased for.
  • Maintain an up-to-date list of all technologists with current certifications and licenses.
  • Pull paperwork for next day’s scheduled appointments during downtime when needed.
  • Serve as the point of contact for reception staff regarding patient scheduling issues. Serve as the point of contact for technologists and reception staff regarding professional issues as they arise.
