Job summary

St. Tammany Health System in Covington, VA, is seeking a CT Technologist to operate in a Mobile CT unit and at other CT locations as needed.

The role requires ARRT registration, state radiology license, CPR, and at least one year of CT experience with multi-slice technology; CT registration strongly preferred. 40 hours weekly, Thu–Sun nights in four 10-hour shifts.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited radiology technology program.
• Minimum of one year experience in a CT department with multi-slice technology.
• ARRT registered in Radiology, state licensed in radiology by the LSRT, CPR certified.
• CT registration strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform various CT exams in the Mobile CT unit and at CT locations as needed.
• Track each study and ensure PACS acquisition of the study.
• Use radiation protection devices and select technical factors for optimum image quality.
• Process images and perform related duties to support quality CT services.

JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40

Work Shift: Thursday - Sunday | Nights | Four 10-Hour Shifts

Summary of the Job:

Perform various CT exams in the Mobile CT unit as well as serve at all CT locations when needed. Manipulates computerized topographical radiological equipment, using knowledge of positioning patients and general anatomy and physiology as well as the ability for processing these images. Responsible for the tracking of each study and the PACS acquisition of the study performed. Properly uses radiation protection devices, selects technical factors necessary to produce optimum quality computerized radiographical images; processes those images and performs a variety of other dutiesconsistent with providing quality computerized topographicalservices.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must be a graduate of an accredited radiology technology program. Minimum of one year experience in a CT department with multi-slice technology. A.R.R.T. registered in Radiology, state licensed in radiology by the LSRT, CPR certified. CT registered strongly preferred. Must be able to work in a fast paced environment with patients of all types and ages. Must possess strong guest relations skills.

Physical Demands:

Must possess good physical health. Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time. Lifting at least 50 pounds is required. Must be able to work with a moderate level of noise.

Frequently (34%-66%)- carrying, pushing/pulling, handling/feeling, talking
