Job summary

St. Tammany Health System in Covington, LA is seeking a CT technologist to perform computerized tomography procedures with attention to positioning, anatomy, and image quality. You will operate PACS, monitor patient safety, and assist with processing studies.

The role requires ARRT radiology registration, state licensure, BLS certification, and the ability to work a fast-paced weekend schedule. Weekend-only shifts offer weekend and shift differentials.

Qualifications

• ARRT registered in Radiology, LSRT state licensed in radiology.
• CT Registered required within one (1) year of hire.
• Current BLS certification through ILCOR courses.
• Must be able to work in a fast paced environment with patients of all types and ages.
• Must possess strong guest relations skills.

Work Shift

Saturday & Sunday: 7:00a - 11:00p | Two 16-Hour Shifts

Summary of the Job

Manipulates computerized tomographical radiological equipment, using knowledge of positioning patients and general anatomy and physiology as well as the ability for processing these images. Responsible for the tracking of each study and the PACS acquisition of the study performed. Properly uses radiation protection devices, selects technical factors necessary to produce optimum quality computerized radiographical images; processes those images and performs a variety of other duties consistent with providing quality computerized tomographical services.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited radiology technology program.
• One (1) year's experience in a CT department with multi-slice technology is preferred.
• A.R.R.T. registered in Radiology, state licensed in radiology by the LSRT.
• CT Registered required within one (1) year of hire.
• Current BLS certification through any International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) provided courses such as but not limited to: Ochsner Health System, American Heart Association, and American Red Cross. The ILCOR course must include a manikin check off.
• Must be able to work in a fast paced environment with patients of all types and ages.
• Must possess strong guest relations skills.

This is a WOW - Weekend Only Work - position which requires a minimum of five (5) out of six (6) consecutive weekends. Employee will be paid for hours worked, plus shift and WOW differentials.

Physical Demands

Must possess good physical health. Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time. Lifting at least 50 pounds is required. Must be able to work with a moderate level of noise.

• Frequently (34%-66%) - carrying, pushing/pulling, handling/feeling, talking
