Job summary

Memorial Medical Center, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Cat Scan (CT) Technologist for a PRN role in Las Cruces, NM. You will perform CT exams on an as-needed basis, position patients, enter data accurately, and contribute to high-quality imaging while adhering to department and safety policies.

Applicants should have an associate or bachelor's degree in radiologic sciences, ARRT Radiography, ARRT CT eligibility, NM radiography license, NM CT license, and BLS.

Qualifications

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in radiologic sciences.
  • ARRT Radiography and NM radiography licensure requirements.
  • BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Performs CT examinations accurately and timely, ensuring proper patient positioning and documentation.
  • Performs nuclear medicine scans according to established protocols and administers radiopharmaceuticals per radiologist protocols.
  • Produces high-quality diagnostic images while maintaining exam accuracy and minimizing patient exposure.
  • Maintains knowledge of equipment performance and reports malfunctions to supervisor.
  • Provides patient education related to diagnostic imaging procedures.
  • Keeps up-to-date with current imaging techniques and seeks efficiency and customer-relations improvements.
  • Follows hospital policies, infection control, safety and regulatory guidelines.

How You'll Contribute
  • Ensures that patient examinations are performed in an accurate and timely manner; not to exceed 30 minutes. Provides accurate patient positioning, computer entries and filming.
  • Performs nuclear medicine scans according to established protocols. Administers radiopharmaceuticals to patient according to the radiologist prescribed protocols.
  • Applies knowledge to produce high quality diagnostic scan images with use of professional knowledge to meet or exceed department guidelines. Maintains exam accuracy, i.e., minimum views, labeling, patient dose, positioning, patient history and shielding. Minimizes patient exposure.
  • Maintains knowledge of equipment performance. Reports malfunctions to supervisor. Conveys to supervisor any problems related to supplies or equipment as well as information pertaining to the problem.
  • Demonstrates technical knowledge. Demonstrates the ability to provide patient education relating to diagnostic nuclear medicine procedures.
  • Learns and maintains knowledge of current imaging techniques. Identifies methods to improve diagnostic quality. Identifies methods to improve efficiency and customer relations.
  • Complies with hospital and imaging policy/procedures 100% of the time. Follows infection control policies and procedures and compliance guidelines with federal, state and local regulations within the department. Follows Safety and Security policies and procedures, reporting violations as observed, through the channels defined by policy, making corrective action immediately on life‑safety issues.

What We're Looking For

Applicants should have an associate or bachelor's degree in radiologic sciences. Additional requirements include:

  • License/Certifications:
    • ARRT Radiography required. ARRT CT or CT eligible required.
    • NM license in Radiography required. NM license in CT or CT Provisional required.
    • BLS required.
