Job summary

Second Chance Rescue Inc. in LIC, NY seeks an Animal Care & Facility Specialist-CATS to oversee the well‑being of cats, ensure health and comfort, and engage visitors with adoption information.

The role involves daily monitoring, nourishment, documentation, and maintaining hygiene across living areas. Requires cat experience and Fear Free certification within 30 days, plus NYS training.

Qualifications

• Prior experience handling animals, specifically cats.
• Passion for animals, particularly cats, and well‑being focus.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Fear Free Shelter certification required within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily facility operations, including intake paperwork and feeding of animals.
• Engage with felines through playtime and individualized care.
• Maintain cleanliness of living areas and visitor spaces.
• Provide a warm welcome to visitors and share adoption information.
• Document daily progress and notify leadership of any concerns.
