Animal Care Center of NYC seeks a Feline Behavior Specialist to conduct behavior assessments, socialization, and enrichment for cats in ACC’s Care Centers. You will work hands-on with timid or fearful cats, using positive reinforcement and Fear Free techniques to help them adjust and thrive, in collaboration with staff.

The role requires lifting up to 50 lbs, ongoing documentation, and delivery of behavioral plans.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience observing and documenting feline behavior in an objective manner required.
• Strong understanding of feline body language required.
• Must be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
• Fear Free certification required within 30 days of hire.

Responsabilités

• Work with Feline Behavior Team to identify cats for behavior evaluations and follow-up checks.
• Provide enrichment and socialization for cats to improve quality of life.
• Offer hands-on handling training to staff in Fear Free care.
• Maintain accurate records of daily activities and behavior notes.
• Develop behavior modification plans for cats not thriving in care.
• Coordinate with other departments to support medical, grooming, and placement needs.
