Job summary

Munich Re Specialty - North America is seeking a detail-oriented Underwriting Support professional to assist our Casualty business units with new and renewal underwriting tasks, pricing support, and policy issuance in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.

You will analyze financial data, input information into underwriting systems, coordinate with brokers and internal partners, and contribute to process improvements while mentoring junior team members and ensuring data integrity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in related field.
• 3+ years insurance company experience with emphasis on analytic functions in underwriting support.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, client-centric environment.
• Excellent customer service skills and working knowledge of insurance policies.
• Intermediate to expert level computer skills – Microsoft Excel (highly important), Word, SharePoint, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Support new and renewal underwriting tasks for Casualty units by organizing submission information and providing pricing, quotes, and binding support.
• Review, analyze and input financial and statistical information to support quotes, policy issuance, reinsurance booking, and documentation.
• Interpret data and set up accounts in underwriting systems, coordinating with underwriters and actuarial teams.
• Support policy and reinsurance binding and service requirements.
• Collaborate with brokers and internal teams to inform underwriting decisions and data needs.
• Recommend process improvements and tool enhancements, test system changes.
• Mentor Underwriting Assistants and peers as needed.
• Perform quality control checks to maintain data integrity.
