Great American Insurance Group’s Alternative Markets team is seeking a Senior Claims Technical Director in Cincinnati, OH, or remote. The role leads complex claims handling with strategic coverage decisions and high-stakes negotiations.

The candidate will manage an extensive claims inventory, supervise technical guidance, and ensure regulatory and company standards are met. A senior-level professional with strong analytical and leadership skills is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Risk Management and Insurance, Finance, or a related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 18 years of experience in property & casualty claims handling.
• Completion of a professional designation such as Associate in Claims (AIC) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manages a significant inventory of claims for a highly complex product/line of business.
• Conducts investigations, assesses coverage and liability, and formulates settlement strategies.
• Analyzes and negotiates settlements within authority and participates in arbitrations, mediations, depositions, or trials.
• Creates and implements strategic coverage decisions and negotiation strategies for stakeholders.
• Oversees payments within assigned authority limits and ensures documentation is accurate and timely.
