Job summary

The Department of Defense Casualty Assistance Center in Alaska seeks a versatile civilian specialist to plan, coordinate, integrate, and execute all CAC services. You will communicate with families of deceased personnel to express condolences and coordinate actions with CAO and CNO.

You will ensure burial honors and entitlements comply with law, and research casualty policies to improve CAC operations, advising senior leaders on casualty and mortuary matters.

Qualifications

• One year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-09.
• Coordinating transfer of remains and personal effects.
• Advising next of kin on benefits and entitlements.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute CAC services.
• Communicate with families to convey condolences and coordinate actions with CAO/CNO.
• Ensure burial honors and entitlements per law and DoD guidance.
• Research casualty/mortuary policies for CAC efficiency.
• Provide guidance to commanders and units on casualty and mortuary matters.
