Job summary

Shelter Insurance is seeking a Casualty Adjuster in the United States. This role involves investigating and settling liability and bodily injury claims, verifying coverage and negotiating settlements within authority limits.

You will coordinate with other adjusters to handle multiple claims efficiently. We value analytical thinkers with strong negotiation and customer service skills, and you may be required to complete on‑the‑job training and obtain multi‑state licensing.

• Coordinate claims handling of multiple adjusters.
• Due to duties, a Credit Bureau Report and Criminal Background Check may be ordered on final candidates.

Shelter maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in geographic location, education, training, skills, relevant work experience, business needs and market demands. Please remember that this range is the starting base pay only and does not consider other components that make up the total rewards package for the position.

What You Will Be Doing:

• Investigate, analyze, evaluate and settle insurance claims involving liability issues and bodily injury losses.

• Determine validity of claims, verify coverage, establish value of losses and negotiate settlements within limits of authority, consistent with established procedures and legal and contractual obligations.


• Coordinate claims handling of multiple adjusters.


• Due to the duties and responsibilities of this position, a Credit Bureau Report and Criminal Background Check may be ordered on final candidates.
