Job summary

Qualifications

• Complete one of the following by hire date: Military Surgical Assistant, LPN Surgical Assistant, or Surgical Technologist training.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) through Health Care Providers (or ability to obtain by hire date).
• Knowledge of physical, psychosocial, and cognitive developmental needs of population served.

Responsibilities

• Supplying appropriate instruments and specialty items.
• Maintaining aseptic technique during all sterile procedures.
• Counting all required sponges, sharps, and instruments.
• Anticipating the surgeon’s needs.
