Job summary

Trinity Health in Ohio is seeking a Staff Registered Nurse to join our part-time roles. The RN will provide care within the Ohio Nurse Practice Act and collaborate with a team to deliver patient-centered care and accurate documentation.

The position involves performing assessments, assisting with examinations and treatments, administering medications, educating patients and families, and ensuring adherence to standards and policies. A nursing degree and Ohio RN license are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a nursing program.
• Current RN license in Ohio.
• BLS/CPR certification.
• Ability to plan, organize, and manage patient care with supervision.
• Basic computer skills; EMR experience preferred.
• 2 years hospital-based experience with recent clinical work.
• Complete online competencies with 80% or higher.
• BLS/ACLS/PALS/TNCC/NRP requirements vary by unit.

Responsibilities

Position Purpose:

In accordance with the Mission and Guiding Behaviors; the Staff Registered Nurse, within the scope of the Ohio Nurse Practice Act, will provide care in an atmosphere sensitive to each person’s physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs. The Registered Nurse collaborates in the spirit of teamwork is accountable for the delivery of patient care utilizing the Nursing Process within the standards, policies, procedures and guidelines of the Organization.

What You Will Do:

• Assess and evaluate patient care for an assigned group of patients, utilizing evidence-based practice; Assists provider with patient assessment, examinations and treatments; Perform basic medical procedures under the supervision of a provider, including set up of procedures.
• Administer medications under the direction of the provider, according to the organization’s standards, policies, procedures, and/or guidelines.
• Assist in emergency situations under the direction of the provider
• Thoroughly educate and explain procedures to patients and family members (diagnosis, disease process, etc.).
• Document accurately and completely pertinent assessments, interventions and outcomes for patients in accordance with documentation standards, policies, procedures and/or guidelines.
• Assume responsibility and accountability for care provided and documented by other licensed and unlicensed care givers as appropriate.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Graduate of a school of nursing
• Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio
• Current BLS/CPR
• Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and manage patient care, including delegation to and supervision of other members of the patient care team
• Basic computer skills required; prior experience using an EMR for charting preferred
• 2 years of hospital-based experience with at least 18 months of recent/relevant clinical experience within their specialty area.
• Candidates must successfully complete a series of online competencies with an 80% or greater to be eligible.
• Medical Surgical Nursing- BLS required, ACLS preferred, Critical Care- BLS and ACLS required, ER- BLS, ACLS, PALS and TNCC required, Perinatal-EFM (Labor and Delivery) and NRP required.
