## Casual Public Safety OfficerApplytime type: Part timeposted on: Posted 14 Days Agojob requisition id: R2026104**Overview**The Public Safety Dispatcher is the first point of contact for individuals seeking emergency and non-emergency services. Dispatchers will receive initial calls for service and collaborate with responders using two-way radios, telephone, email, online portals, and text messaging to communicate with staff and emergency responders for a solution that best fits department and college policies and procedures. This person will provide customer service by triaging requests and providing the best solution. The Public Safety Dispatcher will document incoming requests, activities performed, and dispositions of calls, be responsible for student workers (scheduling, hiring, training, etc.), assume responsibility for several department programs and services provided to the community (parking passes, bike registration, lost and found, etc.). Other duties may be assigned if deemed necessary by supervisors. This is a part-time position working 16 hours a week with a Friday and Saturday 6pm to 2am schedule. Additional hours on occasion. About The Department: The Department of Public Safety provides security services and emergency response on campus and develops and maintains the campus Emergency Operations Plan, a broad plan that establishes response protocol and a chain of command for emergencies that threaten the health and safety of the campus community or that disrupt its programs and activities. The plan covers emergencies ranging from natural disasters to terrorist attacks and conforms to state and federal regulations. The plan is reviewed and updated as situations, threats, and resources change.**Responsibilities****Qualifications******Responsibilities:***** Monitors campus security cameras for irregular or unusual activities.
