Job summary

Emplify Health by Gundersen is seeking a part-time phlebotomist for the Onalaska Clinic laboratory. This role supports specimen collection, patient instruction, and teamwork with clinic staff in a fast-paced care setting.

Venipuncture, capillary puncture, and specimen labeling are primary tasks, with emphasis on safety and patient confidentiality. Starting pay is $16.86 per hour with 0.6 FTE, on-the-job training, and weekend/evening differentials.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalency.
• A copy of the diploma/transcript must be provided at time of hire.
• Strong customer service skills with compassionate patient care.
• Effective communication with patients, healthcare professionals, and lab staff.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Previous phlebotomy/medical experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and capillary puncture to collect blood samples.
• Verify patient information and ensure accurate labeling of specimens.
• Prepare specimens for laboratory testing and ensure proper storage and transportation.
• Follow established protocols and safety guidelines to maintain a sterile environment.
• Monitor patient condition before, during, and after blood collection.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to coordinate specimen collection and processing.
• Maintain accurate records and confidentiality of patient information.
