Job summary

UPMC Hamot in Erie, PA seeks a casual Nursing Assistant to support the GI Lab. Candidates enrolled in nursing school or with direct patient care experience preferred.

Responsibilities include assisting with activities of daily living, maintaining a safe patient environment, delivering nourishments, taking vitals, and documenting care. Training and CPR/BLS may be required within 30 days.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Successful completion of UPMC nursing assistant training program.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) preferred.
• CPR/Basic life support training.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care as directed by the RN, including activities of daily living.
• Maintains a safe, clean environment and adheres to safety policies.
• Assists with supplies, equipment, and transport for patient care.
• Delivers nourishments and assists with meals and hydration.
• Performs nursing assistant core tasks: vitals, I&O, specimens as permitted.
• Records in the medical chart and communicates changes to the RN.
• Collaborates with the health care team to support patient recovery.
