Job summary

CELTS Aquatics Group is seeking a responsible Lifeguard for a casual, on-site position in Matteson, IL. You will monitor zones, enforce rules, and respond to emergencies with first aid and BLS skills.

The role requires flexible hours including evenings and some weekends; Starguard or Red Cross credentials are a plus. Training is available for the right candidate to ensure safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 15 years of age.
• Current Lifeguard certification or willingness to train in First Aid, CPR, and Basic Life Support (AED/Oxygen) preferred or willingness to obtain.
• Ability to work evenings, some weekends, and early morning shifts as required.
• Strong swimming skills and physical fitness.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Starguard Cert preferred, Ellis & American Red Cross accepted. Will train the right candidate.

Responsibilities

• Monitor assigned zones to ensure the safety of all swimmers and patrons.
• Prevent hazards by identifying and addressing unsafe conditions promptly.
• Enforce pool rules and regulations consistently and fairly.
• Conduct water surveillance and maintain constant vigilance.
• Respond quickly to emergencies, including performing rescues.
• Provide basic first aid and BLS including AED and oxygen administration as needed.
• Perform light cleaning and maintenance tasks during downtime.
