Job summary

Worcestershire County Cricket Club is seeking casual Bar Staff to join our hospitality team at New Road, Worcester. You will deliver friendly service, prepare drinks, take orders, and help with setup, stock rotation and bar cleanliness to ensure a smooth operation during matchdays and events.

Applicants should have bar experience, be at least 18, and enjoy delivering great customer service in a fast-paced environment. Flexible evenings and weekends are required.

Qualifications

• Previous bar work experience is essential.

• Knowledge of alcoholic drinks including wine is desirable.
• A proactive team player who works on own initiative.

• Health and safety and food hygiene awareness; induction training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve soft and alcoholic drinks, and wines/beers.
• Take customer orders and process payments.
• Assist with food prep (e.g., fruits for drinks) and hot beverages.
• Help with setup and close down of the bar; stock rotation and stock checks.
• Maintain bar cleanliness and provide friendly customer interaction.
• Stock drinks, glasses, fruits and food.

Location: Worcestershire County Cricket Club, New Road, Worcester, WR2 4QQ

Contract term: Casual hours

Essential: Previous bar work experience

Purpose of the Role:

We are looking for passionate, enthusiastic people who will be responsible for the smooth operation of a quality bar service.

Bar Staff must have excellent presentation and be passionate about food, drink, customer service and the delivery of an effective and efficient product. They must be focused on the customer experience from entry to leaving.

You will undertake a range of duties essential for the successful operation of a bar such as preparation or drinks, table service, setup and close down, stock rotation, cleaning of the bar area etc.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Preparing and serving soft drinks, alcoholic drinks and wines/beers
• Taking customer orders
• Some elements of food preparation e.g fruits for dressing drinks
• Hot drink preparation – coffee and teas
• Taking electronic payments
• Clearing of tables
• General cleaning duties to include bars and tables.
• Providing friendly and appropriate customer interaction
• Stocking drinks, glasses, fruit and food

Person Specification:

• Previous experience working on a bar
• To work on the bar you must be over 18
• Knowledge of alcoholic drinks including wine is preferrable
• A proactive team player who works on own initiative.
• A great communicator with a genuine interest and enthusiasm for great customer service.
• Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
• Polite, courteous, and presentable at all times.
• Have a professional and positive attitude.
• Provide a welcoming atmosphere to all guests.
• Active listening skills to ensure orders are taken correctly.
• Previous experience in Hospitality is desirable.
• Operate in accordance with the appropriate Health and Safety; Food Hygiene and Service standards and be willing to undertake appropriate induction training in these key areas.

You will need to have the Right to Work in the UK or be able to obtain this by the start date. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role.

Hours, benefits and salary:

There are no set hours associated with this role and you will work on a casual basis.

The rate of pay for this role is £12.71
