Qualifications

• The incumbent must be computer literate and strong technical knowledge and supervisory experience relative to the casting process.
• Bachelor's degree in a management related field or the equivalent of six years of technical/supervisory experience and some formal education beyond high school.

Responsibilities

• Learn, accept and live Century Aluminum’s Safety Mission Statement.
• Provide direction for the Casting department team to achieve effective/efficient use of resources to maximize safety, quality, productivity, costs and customer satisfaction.
• Train and develop the team to meet the objectives of the Casting department; establish team boundaries with internal/ external customers' expectations.
• Provide direction for shift craftsmen to increase equipment reliability.
• Provide direction/coaching to ensure a clean, organized and safe working environment; support safety committee activities.
• Develop, train and guide personnel in safety awareness and lead by example.
• Participate in safety program activities including investigations, inspections, safety meetings and job observations.
• Interface with other plant crews to maximize productivity of a value-added product.
