Job summary

Ashland Foundry & Machine Works LLC in Ashland, Pennsylvania, is seeking a Project Engineer to plan, coordinate, and execute engineering projects that support the production of high-quality castings using sand molding and investment casting. You will bridge engineering, tooling, metallurgy, and manufacturing to deliver new products, process improvements, and cost reductions.

The role reports to the VP of Engineering and requires hands-on experience with molding, melting, and alloy

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years foundry operations.
• Hands-on experience with molding systems, induction melting, and alloy solidification.
• Proficiency in CAD software and simulation tools (e.g., MAGMASOFT, ProCAST).

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and execute engineering projects supporting high-quality castings.
• Design, implement, and refine casting processes for various alloys.
• Develop gating and riser systems to ensure sound castings with minimal defects.
• Monitor defects and implement corrective actions; maintain process parameters.
• Coordinate with customers and suppliers; manage timelines and budgets.
