Job summary

Trojan Battery in Sandersville, GA is seeking a Casting Operator to apply paste to grids and create plates that help the battery hold its charge. You will load raw materials, move materials between machines, and assist with pasting machine operations.

This role requires standing for long periods, lifting 50–80 lbs, wearing PPE, and working in a lead-acid battery environment. A High School Diploma and manufacturing experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• Six months - 2 years of manufacturing/plant experience.
• Ability to work in extreme temperatures and heavy environment.
• Must be clean shaven.
• Ability to use hand tools and learn machine controls and gauges.

Position Overview

Casting Operator is responsible for applying the appropriate paste to grids, create plates that help battery hold its charge. Additionally, Casting Operator loads raw materials into machines and manually moves materials from and to machines.

Areas of Focus

Casting operator will comply with blood lead health and hygiene protocols, comply with hazards communication procedures and must follow all ergonomic recommendations and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

Level I

• Applies the appropriate paste to grids, creating plates that help the battery to hold its charge
• Loads raw materials into machines
• Manually on and off bears materials from/to machines
• Assists operator in monitoring pasting machine function
• Performs visual inspections for quality and quantity; enters data into data collector
• Operates forklift to move materials; complete any required documentation
• Must be committed to safety excellence and have ability to wear all required PPE (including a respirator)
• Lift 50 - 80 lbs. and stand for long periods of time

Basic Qualifications
