Job summary

Western Extrusions Corporation in New Jersey is seeking a Cast House Manager to oversee all foundry and casting operations within our fast-paced aluminum extrusion facility. You will lead production, safety, quality, maintenance, and continuous improvement efforts to ensure the efficient production of high-quality billets that support downstream extrusion operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in aluminum casting, foundry operations, metals manufacturing, or a similar heavy industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of molten metal handling, casting processes, and manufacturing operations.
• Proven experience leading teams in a production environment.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage all day-to-day Cast House operations, including melting, alloying, casting, homogenizing, and billet production.
• Lead and develop supervisors and production employees to achieve safety, quality, and productivity goals.
• Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor production schedules and coordinate with extrusion and maintenance teams to meet business demands.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, yield, cost reduction, and process optimization.
• Analyze production metrics and implement corrective actions to improve performance.
• Oversee preventive maintenance activities and support equipment reliability initiatives.
• Manage departmental budgets, staffing, and operational resources.
• Lead root cause investigations related to quality, downtime, safety incidents, and equipment failures.
• Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and operational excellence.
