Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an approved medical assistant training program.
• Active Medical Assistant Certification required (per Meaningful use).
• BLS certification required.
• Strong computer skills with medical software.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patient for exam and treatment by taking vitals and recording measurements.
• Assists providers with exams and minor in-office procedures; performs basic phlebotomy and EKGs.
• Coordinates care: referrals, authorizations, scheduling, and test result communication.
• Provides clerical support and accurate documentation for billing and records.
• Maintains clean, sterile environment and follows OSHA guidelines.
• Orders supplies and manages medication recalls and stock.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families and clinicians.
