Job summary

The Black Hawk Casino in Shawnee, OK is seeking a Staff Accountant to support accounts payable/receivable accuracy and timeliness, while handling confidential information in a gaming environment.

You will work with the Controller and CFO to ensure GAAP compliance, prepare reports, budgets, and month-end close, and assist auditors. Gaming industry experience is preferred; a bachelor’s in accounting or finance is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business or finance; 1-3 years in gaming finance preferred.
• Gaming experience preferred.
• Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel, Access and Word.
• Excellent communication and public speaking skills.
• Knowledge of GAAP, tax rules and policies.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Prepare reports by drawing data from various systems for executive management.
• Assist in annual budgets and forecasts based on trends.
• Review slot and table game statistics and document variances.
• Monitor revenue and expenses and ensure compliance with funding and reporting requirements.
• Post daily and month-end journal entries.
• Assist auditors with documents and requests.
• Collaborate with CFO, Controller and accounting staff daily.
• Perform monthly accounting duties per GAAP and internal controls.
• Assist with month-end inventory counts across departments.
• Work holidays, weekends, and evenings as needed.
