Job summary

Tioga Downs is seeking a detail-oriented Security Supervisor to coordinate and supervise Security Associates on the assigned shift, ensuring the protection of life and property at the property.

We require supervisory experience and knowledge of Gaming Commission rules, with a focus on safeguarding assets and monitoring activity on the gaming floor. The role includes staff oversight and timely reporting, with a comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of two years supervisory experience in security/surveillance.
  • New York State licensed Security Guard.
  • Associate's degree in Criminal Justice or related area preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instruction, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of organization.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Knowledge of, and experience with, closed circuit television equipment preferred.
  • Minimum of two years in law enforcement, surveillance, or related area required.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors all areas of the property at all times, identifying potential security and/or safety risks and reporting same to the appropriate individual or entity for proper resolution.
  • Ensures the quality of operations in the Security Department on assigned shift.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of all rules and regulations of the Gaming Commission, and ensures strict adherence to same throughout the property.
  • Protects company assets and gaming integrity through the consistent, thorough monitoring of all activities on property, particularly on the gaming floor.
  • Directs the flow of Security Reports to the proper individuals within the company, always maintaining the highest level of confidentiality.
  • Advises Security Associates on assigned shift of duties and responsibilities, and ensures that they are completed in a timely, efficient manner.
  • Maintains appropriate staffing levels in the Security Department by interviewing, selecting, training, scheduling, evaluating, promoting, disciplining and terminating Associates, as needed.
  • Reviews all Daily Activity Reports and prepares Shift Reports for Director of Security.
  • Coordinates with the Surveillance Department when Security discovers a matter which needs further investigation or attention.
  • Facilitates the flow of information throughout the department by attending regularly scheduled departmental meetings.
  • Observes, documents, videotapes and reports any unusual or suspicious activities on property.
  • Regularly inspects the premises, identifying potential safety or security hazards, and reporting same to the appropriate individual or entity, for proper resolution.
  • Reviews surveillance tapes and reports, providing detailed information to appropriate company officials and outside agencies, as needed.
  • Held accountable for the accuracy and thoroughness of departmental records and reports.
  • Make suggestions and recommendations, as appropriate, with regard to possible changes in the policies and procedures of other departments, with the protection of company assets in mind.
  • Maintains a series of critical keys, accessing locked areas as necessary.

Security Supervisor

Tioga Downs is hiring a detailed orientated and observant Security Supervisor responsible for coordinating and supervising the activities of all Security Associates on assigned shift to ensure the protection of life and property at the property.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
