Job summary

Maverick Casino & Hotel Elko is seeking an experienced HR Generalist to support the HR Manager across daily operations, including recruiting, worker's compensation, OSHA compliance, unemployment, leave of absence and HR administration.

Position offers a Day Shift, Monday–Friday schedule with occasional weekend or evening shifts and a pay range of $17–$19 per hour. Candidate should have 2–4 years HR experience and solid communication skills.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years experience in a Human Resources environment.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft programs.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, reasoning and conflict resolution skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, time management with deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate when appropriate.

• Willingness to acquire a gaming card.
• Working knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
• Proficiency or ability to learn HR/Talent Management systems.

Responsibilities

• Track and file worker's compensation with a TPA.
• Maintain leave of absences and FMLA within Nevada.
• Maintain OSHA compliance.
• Handle unemployment processes and attend ESD hearings.
• Recruit and hire qualified applicants in collaboration with managers.
• Utilize Paylocity payroll system and HR software.
• Create and maintain Job Descriptions and Postings on Indeed.
• Train end users and provide system documentation.
• Guide managers on HR/payroll processes and policies.
• Administer HR programs, investigations, and training activities.
• Address employment inquiries from applicants, employees and supervisors.
• Maintain compliance with employment laws and regulations.
• Stay updated on HR trends and best practices.
