Sycuan Casino Resort seeks an experienced Casino Financial Controller to lead the Accounting Department and oversee all aspects of accounting, payroll, accounts payable, financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, and internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or equivalent.
• 8+ years of progressively responsible accounting experience.
• 3+ years of supervisory or management experience.
• In-depth knowledge of casino and hospitality accounting operations.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting and GAAP principles.
• Experience with General Ledger, Accounts Payable, and Payroll systems.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and Word skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting operations including payroll, AP, and general ledger.
• Ensure timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
• Lead month-end close activities and reconciliations.
• Develop cash flow and income statement forecasts; manage budget process.
• Coordinate with auditors and ensure GAAP compliance and internal controls.
• Improve accounting systems, reporting processes, and workflows.
• Lead and mentor Finance Department managers and staff.

Sycuan Casino Resort is seeking an experienced and strategic Casino Financial Controller to lead our Accounting Department and oversee all aspects of accounting, payroll, accounts payable, financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, and internal controls.

What You'll Do

Accounting Operations

• Oversee general accounting, revenue audit, payroll, and accounts payable functions.
• Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, including:
• Income Statements
• Balance Sheets
• Cash Flow Statements
• Lead month-end close activities, including:
• Account reconciliations
• Overhead allocations
• Prepare financial analyses and provide operational insights to executive leadership.

Budgeting, Forecasting & Cash Management

• Lead the annual budgeting process across the property.
• Develop and maintain:
• Cash flow forecasts
• Income statement forecasts
• Balance sheet projections
• Assist with banking relationships, cash management, and interbank fund transfers.

Compliance, Audits & Internal Controls

• Partner with internal and external auditors to ensure efficient audit processes.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, gaming regulations, and other applicable financial requirements.
• Develop, implement, and maintain financial policies and procedures.
• Monitor regulatory changes and assess impacts on financial operations.
• Strengthen internal controls and oversee resolution of audit exceptions.

Systems & Process Improvement

• Evaluate and improve accounting systems, reporting processes, and operational workflows.
• Collaborate with IT and operational teams on technology solutions that enhance financial reporting and monitoring capabilities.

Leadership & Team Development

• Lead and mentor Finance Department managers and staff.
• Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, transparency, and continuous improvement.
• Support professional development and succession planning initiatives.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications
