Essential Job Functions:

1. Provide efficient and courteous service to customers at all times, including assisting customers at the check-out. Always wait until a relief arrives before signing off the register.
2. Scan and ring customer orders according to company policy, ensuring items are credited to the correct department and removed from the cart.
3. Receive and be accountable for all funds for each transaction.
4. Assist the courtesy clerk in bagging groceries.
5. Maintain a neat and clean work station and surrounding area.
6. Follow all laws and policies regarding alcohol sales, WIC handling, coupons, and tendering procedures.
7. Properly use assigned tills and follow procedures for obtaining change.
8. Take weekly produce tests and record all not-on-file items daily.
9. Use the intercom properly and avoid personal conversations during checkout.
10. Understand and explain the ValuCard program.
11. Assist with light stocking duties and keep the front end clean.
12. Replace misplaced items and keep bathrooms tidy.
13. Perform other duties as assigned.
