Responsibilities

A Cashier/Stocker provides prompt, courteous customer assistance in a grocery store environment. Responsibilities include:

• Greets and serves customers.
• Helps unload customers' carts (if necessary).
• Scans & weighs merchandise.
• Accurately processes orders and receives payment.
• Counts back change and bags/boxes purchases.
• Loads and carries out purchases, retrieves carts.
• Unloads, stores, and stocks merchandise and supplies.
• Operates pallet jacks or forklifts (only qualified employees).
• Opens cases of merchandise using case cutters.
• Fills and faces merchandise on shelves and displays.
• Removes boxes from shelves into the box bin or cardboard baler (only qualified employees).
• Cleans, sweeps, mops, and disposes of trash.
• Other duties may be assigned.
