Job summary

PAQ, Inc. is looking for a full-time Combo Clerk to join our Sacramento store. You will handle cash and electronic payments, assist customers, and operate POS and SCO systems. You’ll balance cash drawers, follow policies, and support other departments as needed.

No prior retail experience is required; on-the-job training is provided. Candidates must be 18 or older and capable of standing for long periods in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• No prior experience required; on-the-job training provided.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Basic math and cash handling proficiency.
• Customer service oriented with strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly customer service and resolve concerns with supervisor assistance as needed.
• Accurately identify produce items and process codes.
• Process cash, checks, coupons, and electronic payments (debit, credit, gift cards, EBT, and WIC).
• Operate POS systems and self-checkout devices; ensure quick, accurate transactions.
• Reconcile cash drawer and maintain accurate records for cash drops and currency needs.
• Follow store policies and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements such as alcohol sales hours and ID checks.
• Balance till at end of shift and report discrepancies to supervisor.
• Assist other departments as needed and adapt to changing workload.
