Job summary

Scheels in Cedar Park, TX is seeking a friendly cashier to greet customers, scan items, and process transactions accurately while promoting the Scheels Visa and digital receipts.

This part-time role offers 15-20 hours per week with shifts including weekdays and weekends. A high school diploma or GED and 1–3 months of cashiering experience preferred; benefits include ESOP, 401(k) with Roth options, health coverage and employee discounts.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

• Greet all customers with a smile when entering and exiting the store
• Enhance the customer experience by engaging in conversation while providing personalized service and consistently meeting the goals of the digital receipt program
• Accurately scan every item customers are purchasing, ensuring all merchandise is properly rung through and paid for before the customer leaves the store
• Treat merchandise with care, and bag purchases carefully and efficiently
• Promote the Scheels Visa card and clearly explain all benefits
• Ask every customer to sign up for digital receipts
• End each transaction by saying “thank you” to every customer
• Perform basic math, calculate discounts, make change, and accurately balance the cash drawer
• Operate the computerized register system and follow all cash handling policies
• Maintain an awareness of in-store events and promotions
• Keep the checkout area stocked and clean

Education & Experience:

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• 1-3 months of cashiering experience preferred

Physical Requirements/Lifting Requirements:

Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.

Medium work – Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects

Schedule:

This position will include 1-2 shifts a week, Monday through Friday shifts can vary from 9:30am-9:00P.M, and every other weekend. Saturday shifts will vary between 9:30 A.M to 9:00pm, and Sundays 11:00 A.M- 7:00 P.M. On average, this position will be 15-20 hours per week.
