Job summary

Scheels in Billings, MT seeks a friendly cashier to greet customers, scan items, and process transactions accurately, delivering a world-class customer experience.

You will promote the Scheels Visa, encourage digital receipts signups, balance cash drawer, and keep the checkout area organized while staying informed about in-store promotions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 1-3 months of cashiering experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet all customers with a smile when entering and exiting the store.
• Enhance the customer experience by engaging in conversation while providing personalized service and consistently meeting the goals of the digital receipt program.
• Accurately scan every item customers are purchasing, ensuring all merchandise is properly rung through and paid for before the customer leaves the store.
• Promote the Scheels Visa card and clearly explain all benefits.
• Ask every customer to sign up for digital receipts.
• End each transaction by saying “thank you” to every customer.
• Perform basic math, calculate discounts, make change, and accurately balance the cash drawer.
• Operate the computerized register system and follow all cash handling policies.
• Maintain an awareness of in-store events and promotions.
• Keep the checkout area stocked and clean

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• 1-3 months of cashiering experience preferred

Physical Requirements/Lifting Requirements

Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.

Medium work – Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
