Position Summary:

The Cashier is responsible for checking out customer's merchandise through the POS registers. They perform various customer service activities, including greeting and acknowledging all customers promptly and friendly, and handling merchandise with care.

Essential Functions:

• Supports a strong commitment to world-class customer service and ensures a pleasant shopping experience for all customers.
• Approaches all customers in a friendly and outgoing manner.
• Remains knowledgeable about products and aware of advertised sales.
• Stocks and straightens shelves and pegs when not ringing up products.
• Provides a legendary customer experience by assisting in making buying decisions, identifying customer needs, making recommendations, and promoting programs like CLUB Membership, VOC, and In-Store Pick-up.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Experience/Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Ability to calculate discounts and make change.
• Friendly and professional communication skills.
• Ability to establish effective working relationships with management, coworkers, and customers.
• Ability to operate a computerized POS register system.

Physical Requirements:

• Constant standing and walking during shifts.
• Occasional use of ladders, stairs, and ramps.
• Frequent communication and repetitive motions with hands and wrists.
• Occasional work in varying temperatures and outdoor conditions.
• Light lifting up to 20 pounds regularly, up to 50 pounds with team assistance.

Independent Judgment:

Performs tasks under general supervision, using established procedures and some innovation. Makes recommendations to work procedures, policies, and practices.
