Job summary

Agri Supply is seeking a friendly cashier to welcome customers, handle checkout, and provide accurate, courteous service. You will process payments, issue receipts and refunds, and help customers locate merchandise while maintaining store standards.

The role requires basic math skills, reliability, and a positive attitude. Training will cover policies, price checks, and safety procedures in a busy retail environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide a positive customer experience by greeting and assisting customers and addressing inquiries or complaints with courtesy.
• Operate cash register and process payments by cash, check, credit card, voucher, or debit.
• Issue receipts, refunds, credits, or change; handle credit memos for returns.
• Maintain and secure invoices and refunds until shift end balance.
• Proactively gain product knowledge to assist customers and upsell where appropriate.
• Keep pricing discrepancy logs for management.
• Answer phones and direct customers to merchandise in-store.
• Verify customer information for taxes in the computer system and special rates.
• Communicate with ASC staff via walkie-talkies for information or help.
• Offer carry-out service, return carts, process returns, and manage trash as needed.
• Maintain register supplies and restock as needed.
• Draft load tickets for large purchases picked up in the yard.
• Perform any other duties assigned by management.

Job Duties:

• Provide a positive customer experience by greeting and assisting customers and responding to customer inquiries and complaints with fair, friendly, and courteous service.
• Operate cash register to process payments made by cash, check, credit cards, vouchers, or automatic debits.
• Issue receipts, refunds, credits, or change due to customers. Issue credit memorandums to customers for returned merchandise.
• Keep all required paperwork (invoice and refund copies) secure and tidy until your end of shift register balancing.
• Proactively seek product knowledge to provide customers with information and identify upselling opportunities.
• Maintain a log of pricing discrepancies for managers.
• Help answer phones and directs customers to merchandise in the store.
• Verify customers’ information in computer regarding taxes. Specifically if customer is in computer system to receive special tax rates.
• Communicate with fellow ASC employees for information or assistance using walkie-talkies
• As register traffic allows; Offer customers carry-out service at the completion of transactions, return shopping carts, process returned or abandoned merchandize, throw out trash etc.
• Maintain register supplies as needed (bags, paper, etc).
• Draft load tickets for large product purchases made within the store that are to be picked up in the yard.
• Any and all other duties assigned by management.

Physical Expectations:

During the job, employees are regularly required to stand for extended periods, use their hands to handle or control objects, and perform tasks that involve reaching, climbing, kneeling, or crouching.
