Job summary

Builders FirstSource is seeking a friendly and reliable cashier to greet customers, process payments, and provide product information at our Florida location. You will handle transactions, balance tills, and assist with inventory and store presentation.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED with at least 6 months related experience, strong math and communication skills, and a detail-oriented approach. This is a full-time, on-site position within a retail environment.

Responsibilities

• Acknowledge customers and provide product information and store knowledge; direct to product pickup points.
• Open/close till; balance receipts; verify cards and checks.
• Provide prompt and efficient telephone service.
• Keep work area clean and neat.
• Assist in pricing and stocking inventory, display preparation and maintenance.
• Participate in annual physical inventory activities.
• Follow safety procedures and attend safety meetings.
• Other duties may be assigned.

PURPOSE

Under direct supervision, greets incoming customers in a pleasant and professional manner. Processes payment of customer purchases at retail locations. Counts money to verify amounts and issues receipts for funds received using a cash register

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Greets customers and receives payment; issues receipts, refunds, credits, or change due to customers; package customer purchases; thanks customers for their business.

1. Acknowledges incoming customers in a pleasant manner and provides product information, location, and general store knowledge. Directs customer to product pick-up point, if necessary.

1. Opens and closes-out till and accurately documents all transactions, makes accurate change, verifies credit cards and checks, and balances receipts.

1. Provides prompt and efficient telephone service.

1. Keeps work area clean and neat.

1. Assists in pricing and stocking inventory, display preparation and maintenance, and maintains quality store presentation.

1. Participates in annual physical inventory activities.

1. Understands and observes all safety procedures and practices in order to prevent injury to self or co-workers; attends periodic safety meetings as required; may recommend changes to improve safety procedures.

1. Other duties may be assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
