Vallarta Supermarkets is seeking friendly, service-oriented Cashiers to deliver extraordinary customer experiences at the front end. This role requires accurate cash handling, strong math and English skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

You'll greet customers, operate the register, balance the till, and keep the front end organized while following safety and store policies. Training is provided, with opportunities for growth in a busy community-focused grocery setting.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service skills and friendly demeanor.
• Ability to count and perform simple math accurately.
• Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Must complete Vallarta Supermarkets Cashier Training Program.
• Flexible schedule including afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Smile and greet customers using Vallarta’s six steps of extraordinary service.
• Model Vallarta’s Core Values: customer service, commitment, integrity, respect, humility, and teamwork.
• Operate cash register systems accurately and follow money handling procedures.
• Balance the cash drawer at the start and end of shifts.
• Keep the check stand clean, organized, and free of clutter.
• Maintain knowledge of produce codes and walk the produce department at shift start.
• Follow rules for WIC, EBT, alcohol, and tobacco sales.
• Bag groceries according to Vallarta procedures and customer requests.
• Respond to customer requests; call for management when needed.
• Offer carry-out assistance for large orders.
